Well...Hello!

Long time no see dear blog.  This is WAY harder than I seem to remember. I'll master you. I will.
Now..onto much more fun things! WELCOME to our fun little place to post articles and upcoming things about our beloved Children's Theatre.

So to welcome myself back to the world of the blog...I give you a few definitions.

*in my best fanfare voice: Bum bah bah bah....

Theatre is a collaborative form of fine art that uses live performers to present the experience of a real or imagined event before a live audience in a specific place. The performers may communicate this experience to the audience through combinations of gesture, speech, song, music or dance.

Actor (usually actress for female) is a person who acts in a dramatic production and who works in film, television, radio, or theatre in that capacity.  The ancient Green word for an "actor," ὑποκριτής (hypokrites), means literally "one who interprets"; in this sense, an actor is one who interprets a dramatic character.

Student is a learner, or someone who attends an educational institution.

Desire is a sense of longing or object or hoping for an outcome. The same sense is expressed by emotions such as "craving" or "hankering". When a person desires something, their sense of longing is excited by the enjoyment, and they want to take actions to obtain their goal. Hobbes (1588–1679) asserted that human desire is the fundamental motivation of all human action.

Play is a term employed in used to describe to a range of voluntary activities normally associated with pleasure and enjoyment.  Play is commonly associated with children, but positive psychology has stressed that play is imperative for all higher-functioning animals, even adult humans.

ALSO

A play is a form of literature written by a playwright, usually consisting of scripted dialogue between characters, intended for theatrical performance rather than just reading. There are rare dramatists, notably George Bernard Shaw, who have had little preference whether their plays were performed or read. The term "play" can refer to both the written works of playwrights and to their complete theatrical performance

Today, me, myself, I am all these things.  And my one desire is to share and create a love of all these ...yes, even desire, in all those who seek to know about the craft of the theatre.

So. Whole Backstage Children's Theatre. Come PLAY with us!
